Keep it complex - make it clear!

We worked with Keep It Complex, POMOC, Centrala and Young Europeans to create a collection of online artworks, posters, flyers and sticker designs encouraging voter participation in the 6th May 2021 local elections; particularly amongst citizens of other countries with permission to enter or stay in the UK, who were eligible to vote.

You can view and download the designs here.

Baltic Arts Centre

Baltic Arts Centre used our design for a big Refugee week window sticker. ‘End the Hostile Environment!’ Design was originally made for Solidarity Knows No Borders community of migrant organisations, groups and individuals, working in solidarity, to end hostility and racism against migrants and refugees.

Bibby Stockholm Workbook

In summer 2023, we designed a Bibby Stockholm workbook with Migrants Organise.

The workbook is intended to be used by individuals who are living on the Bibby Stockholm barge to document issues that they experience. For example, there is a log of "arrivals and departure" to allow individuals to note any restrictions of movements, which might amount to a breach of their article 8 right and/or even, unlawful detention.

Hopefully this workbook will help create a more robust evidence base for any challenge (individual or strategic) and makes things easier when assisting individuals who have been staying at the barge (e.g. you can check with them if they've done the workbook and what's written instead of asking them to re-explain all of the issues)

Email hello@migrantsinculture.com for workbook copies in English, Arabic or Farsi, printed or digital.

Solidarity Knows No Borders

We co-developed the brand identity of the Solidarity Knows No Borders (SKNB) movement.

We designed print and digital materials, posters, postcards, social media assets, that articulated the key values and demands of the movement.

These materials were synthesised directly from the demands and lived experiences of organisers at a SKNB summit, creating designs that were movement-led and authentic in language and tone.

All assets were designed to be open source and distributed with a shared drive with adaptable templates.

Movement materials resonated with organisers, and were downloaded 960+ times in the first 2 weeks of materials being available. They continue to be used to on-board new members and communicate movement activity.

We worked on this project with Right To Remain, Aleesha Nandhra, Sadie St Hilaire, Hwa Young Jung.

These Walls Must Fall

We worked with TWMF campaigners and Arwa Aburawa to make visual materials which celebrate their powerful and joyful organising.

Taking inspiration from their iconic ‘No one is illegal’ grid design, we found new meanings for TWMF - from T for “Try new things” to F for “Feeds us.”

We adapted existing illustrations by TWMF organiser Michael Collins by adding other campaigners’ handwriting.

Campaigners developed the visuals at in-person workshops facilitated by Sundus Abdi. We also shared creative exercises over a 5 week period on zoom and whatsapp. Music courtesy of Larry Achiampong.
